Length of course
Entry requirements
A reasonable standard of general education with four GCSE grades D or E, or successful completion of GNVQ Foundation or NVQ Level 1 programme. Special consideration will be given to mature students without these qualifications, and they are encouraged to apply.
Other course activities
The course has a large practical content. Each student will have the use of an industry standard microcomputer and will gain experience of a wide range of technology, including two weeks' work experience.
Qualifications
GNVQ Intermediate in Information Technology (equivalent to four GCSEs at grade C).
Further education opportunities
GNVQ Advanced in Information Technology or BTEC National Certificate courses in Computer Studies, Engineering or Business Studies.
